Human Immunodeficiency Virus 1 (HIV-1), Quantitative, Real-time PCR (Graphical)
Also known as: HIV-1 Plasma Viremia, HIV-1 RNA by Real-time PCR, Quantitative
Use
Detect and quantitate HIV-1 in plasma
Special Instructions
Submit the patient's Social Security number for serial monitoring purposes. To order this test without the serial monitor service, use test 550430.
Limitations
The assay is capable of measuring a range of 20−10,000,000 copies/mL. Due to potential cross-reactivity, clinicians should be cautious when conducting this test on patients who have undergone CAR-T cell therapy involving lentiviral vectors, as some may share a target region with the test, potentially resulting in false positives.
