Human Immunodeficiency Virus 1 (HIV-1), Quantitative, Real-time PCR (Nongraphical)
Also known as: HIV-1 Plasma Viremia, HIV-1 RNA by Real-time PCR, Quantitative
Use
Detect and quantitate HIV-1 in plasma
Special Instructions
The procedure is for one-time testing only and is not suitable for serial monitoring. For serial testing, order test number 550420. Ensure that the sample is centrifuged within 24 hours, and transfer the plasma to a screw-cap polypropylene transport tube for shipping.
Limitations
The assay can detect and provide quantitative measurements within the range of 20−10,000,000 copies/mL. False positives may occur in patients who have received lentiviral vector-based CAR-T cell therapy due to cross-reactivity with assay targets. Exercise caution in such cases.
