Interleukin-10, Plasma
Also known as: IL-10, IL10
Use
This test is used for the measurement of Interleukin-10 (IL-10) levels in plasma.
Special Instructions
This test was developed by Labcorp, and its performance characteristics were determined by the company. It has not received clearance or approval from the FDA. For accurate results, ensure proper collection and transport of plasma specimens. Testing schedules may vary, so allow for additional time for confirmatory or reflex tests. Take note of conditions leading to rejection such as gross hemolysis or lipemia.
Limitations
The test measures IL-10 but is not FDA cleared or approved. Results might vary based on the sample handling and storage conditions. As IL-10 can affect different cell types variably, it may have pleiotropic effects contributing to complexities in interpreting its role across different medical conditions. Stability under different storage conditions should be considered, and care should be taken with repeat testing due to minimum volume constraints.
