Limitations
This test is intended for in vitro diagnostic use only and is designed to provide preliminary analytical results. The cut-off for cotinine detection is set high to rule out passive inhalation, potentially causing false negatives in low-level exposure. Preliminary positive findings should be confirmed by an alternative method as some over-the-counter medications and adulterants may cause inaccurate results.
