Risperidone
Also known as: Risperdal®
Use
Therapeutic drug management
Special Instructions
It is important to collect trough levels, as they are most reproducible for therapeutic monitoring. The sample should be collected in a red-top or green-top tube, and separated serum or plasma should be transferred to a plastic transport tube. Note that gel-barrier tubes are not recommended for this test.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Therefore, results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical findings and other clinical laboratory data. Interferences from circulating drugs, metabolites, or other compounds can affect test accuracy. The test does not replace therapeutic drug monitoring or comprehensive clinical evaluation as essential elements of patient care.
