Vanilla
Use
The Vanilla test is designed to detect specific IgE antibodies against vanilla, which can indicate an allergic reaction to this substance. This provides information on a patient's sensitivity to vanilla, aiding in the diagnosis of allergic conditions and assisting in the management and prevention of allergic reactions by identifying trigger substances.
Special Instructions
The test is conducted using the Thermo Fisher ImmunoCAP® method, requiring a serum sample of 0.2 mL. It is important to properly collect and store the specimen as instructed to ensure accurate results.
Limitations
The test has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; however, such clearance or approval is not deemed necessary by the FDA for clinical purposes. The test may not detect extremely low levels of IgE antibodies or differentiate between clinical allergy and sensitization without clinical correlation. False positives or negatives can occur, and results should always be interpreted in the context of clinical findings.
