Vectra®
Also known as: Vectra® DA Disease Activity Test
Use
Vectra® DA measures the concentration of 12 serum proteins. An algorithm is applied to these concentrations to calculate a quantitate disease activity score ranging from 1 to 100. Test results are intended to aid in the assessment of disease activity in RA patients when used in conjunction with standard clinical assessment. This test is not intended or validated to diagnose RA.
Special Instructions
The Vectra® test requires careful handling and timely processing of specimens. Allow the specimen to clot for 30 minutes before centrifugation, and separate it from cells within 45 minutes of draw. Proper storage and shipping conditions must be adhered to ensure specimen integrity. Samples must be shipped on frozen cool packs or dry ice to avoid degradation, and sufficient dry ice must be used to ensure samples remain frozen upon reception.
Limitations
The Vectra® Score is computed using the concentrations of specified biomarkers and is intended exclusively for assessing disease activity in RA patients. It does not replace clinical assessments nor should it be used interchangeably with results from different methodologies. Its accuracy can be influenced by patient-specific factors such as age, gender, and adiposity. Additionally, the test is not suitable for patients outside the specified age range (below 18 or above 100 years) and may not be FDA-cleared.
