Whole Body: Mosquito
Use
The Whole Body Mosquito test is used to measure specific IgE antibodies in the serum that are indicative of an allergic reaction to mosquito allergens. It assists healthcare providers in diagnosing and managing mosquito allergy symptoms by identifying sensitization to mosquito allergens.
Special Instructions
This test requires patient serum to be collected and sent to the laboratory for analysis. Ensure the correct volume is collected and stored according to the provided stability requirements. The test is not suitable for rapid point-of-care testing and must be ordered through standard clinical pathways.
Limitations
This test is specific for mosquito allergens and does not provide IgE levels for other potential allergens. False positive or negative results may occur due to pre-analytical or analytical variables. Clinical correlation with patient symptoms and history is essential for accurate diagnosis.
