Special Instructions
Trough levels are most reproducible. Serum or plasma should be separated from cells within two hours of venipuncture. Gel-barrier tubes are not recommended. Submit in plastic transport tube. Maintain specimen at room temperature (stable for 3 days) or refrigerated (stable for 14 days).
Limitations
Gel-barrier tubes are unacceptable and will lead to rejection. Additional time may be needed for reflex or confirmatory testing. Testing schedules may vary.
