Use
Assesses possible adulteration of a urine specimen submitted for drug of abuse testing, including measurement of creatinine concentration for normalization and detection of common adulterants such as water, soap, bleach, vinegar, oxidants, and salt, ensuring valid results and protecting legal integrity via chain-of-custody documentation.
Special Instructions
Chain‑of‑custody kit (T282) is required, including specimen containers, seals, documentation; chain‑of‑custody request form is included in kit. If not ordered electronically, a Therapeutics Test Request (T831) must be completed and sent with the specimen.
Limitations
Specimen suitability is assessed upon receipt; submission of less than 1.5 mL may compromise ability to perform all necessary testing. All specimens are evaluated for suitability; insufficient or improper specimens may lead to rejection.
