CD10 Immunostain, Technical Component Only
Use
CD10 is a cell surface glycoprotein present on various cells, including bone marrow B precursors and myeloid cells, follicle center B cells, and more. It is most useful in diagnosing B-precursor-acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Burkitt lymphoma, and lymphomas of follicle cell center origin, such as follicular lymphoma and a subset of large B-cell lymphomas.
Special Instructions
This test includes only technical performance of the stain; no pathologist interpretation is provided. Technical component only stains should not be ordered with PATHC / Pathology Consultation, as they will be canceled if ordered together. Shipping instructions include attaching the appropriate labels to the transport container.
Limitations
Age of a cut paraffin section can affect immunoreactivity, as charges of glass slides might be affected by environmental factors leading to inconsistent staining. Stability thresholds vary and are antigen dependent; best practice is for paraffin sections to be cut within 6 weeks. Poor storage conditions of slides can alter the slide staining results.
