CD303 (BDCA-2) Immunostain, Technical Component Only
Use
CD303 (BDCA-2) is a highly specific marker for normal and neoplastic plasmacytoid dendritic cells and is useful for diagnosing blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm. This marker is expressed in the cytoplasm/membrane of plasmacytoid dendritic cells, aiding in the specific identification of these cells in neoplastic transformations.
Special Instructions
This test performs only the technical component of the stain - no pathologist interpretation is provided. It should not be ordered with PATHC / Pathology Consultation, as technical stains will be canceled in such cases. Attach the green 'Attention Pathology' and pink 'Immunostain Technical Only' labels to the transport container.
Limitations
This test does not include pathologist interpretation, only technical performance of the stain. Interpretation should be carried out by a qualified pathologist based on the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests. The stability of paraffin sections may vary depending on antigen type and literature reports suggest cutting sections within 6 weeks for optimal results. The charge of glass slides can also affect staining results, emphasizing the importance of correct storage and handling.
