Ethyl Glucuronide Screen with Reflex, Random, Urine
Use
Used for screening for drug abuse involving alcohol. The test begins with an immunoassay-based screen; if positive, a confirmatory test by LC‑MS/MS with quantification is reflexed at an additional charge.
Special Instructions
Only orderable as part of a profile (e.g., Addiction Medicine Profile or Controlled Substance Monitoring Enhanced Profile). Reflex confirmation test (ETGC) is available separately. For chain-of-custody or adulterant concerns, specific kits or additional tests should be ordered.
Limitations
Care should be taken in interpretation since fluid intake and biological factors may influence urine results. Potential for false‑positive or false‑negative results due to cross-reactivity or interference.
