Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 1Beta Immunostain, Technical Component Only
Use
This test is useful for the diagnosis of ovarian clear cell carcinoma and endometrial clear cell carcinoma. The transcription factor Hepatocyte nuclear factor-1beta (HNF-1beta) is involved in regulating the transcription of the TCF2 gene into proteins, and it is known to be upregulated in ovarian clear cell carcinoma, making it a valuable diagnostic marker in these contexts.
Special Instructions
This test includes only the technical performance of the Immunohistochemical stain and does not include a pathologist interpretation. Technical component only stains should not be ordered with PATHC / Pathology Consultation. The technical component stains will be canceled if ordered with PATHC. Attach a green 'Attention Pathology' address label and the pink Immunostain Technical Only label to the transport container.
Limitations
The test does not provide a pathologist interpretation, only the technical performance of the stain. For full diagnostic evaluation or a second opinion, PATHC / Pathology Consultation should be ordered. The charge of glass slides and age of cut paraffin sections can affect immunoreactivity and staining consistency. Best practices should be followed to ensure slide quality.
