Mitragynine Confirmation (Qualitative), Umbilical Cord Tissue
Use
This test is used as a reflex confirmation for mitragynine (an alkaloid of kratom) in umbilical cord tissue, indicating prenatal exposure in neonates. It supports detection of maternal kratom use through sampling of fetal umbilical cord tissue and provides reporting limit determination for each analysis in ng/g.
Special Instructions
Can only be ordered as a reflex test. Submitted specimen must be umbilical cord tissue; handling instructions specify refrigerated transport preferred for up to 7 days, or frozen for up to 14 days.
Limitations
Reporting limit is determined individually per analysis. As a qualitative confirmation test, it provides presence but not quantitation beyond detection limit. Additional limitations may exist per laboratory validation but are not specified here.
