Negative Control, Technical Component Only
Use
This test is useful for the qualitative detection of protein expression within cells in paraffin-embedded tissues. The patterns of protein expression as determined by immunohistochemistry can be instrumental in pathologic diagnosis and classification. It is particularly helpful in contexts where precise identification and localizations of proteins within tissue samples are required.
Special Instructions
This test includes only the technical performance of the stain and does not provide a pathologist interpretation. It should not be ordered with PATHC / Pathology Consultation. If ordered with PATHC, the technical component stains will be canceled.
Limitations
This test does not provide pathologist interpretation; therefore, interpretation should be performed within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist. The age of a cut paraffin section can impact immunoreactivity, and stability thresholds vary, affecting reliability of results. Slides must be used under optimal storage conditions to ensure accurate results.
