p40 + Napsin A Immunostain, Technical Component Only
Use
p40 aids in the classification of carcinomas and lymphomas, while Napsin A aids in the identification of primary lung adenocarcinoma. This test is important for the characterization of specific types of carcinomas found in lung tissue and can provide valuable information for diagnosis.
Special Instructions
This test includes only the technical performance of the stain without pathologist interpretation. It should not be ordered with PATHC / Pathology Consultation as the technical component stains will be canceled if ordered together. Attach the green 'Attention Pathology' label and the pink 'Immunostain Technical Only' label to the transport container.
Limitations
The test is limited to the technical performance of the immunostain and does not include pathologist interpretation. Age of paraffin sections can affect immunoreactivity, and stability varies among different antigens. Best practices for slide storage should be followed to avoid alteration in slide staining. Unsuitable slides can result in inconsistent staining due to poor surface chemistry.
