Relative B-Cell Subset Analysis Percentage, Blood
Use
This test is used for screening humoral or combined immunodeficiencies such as common variable immunodeficiency and hyper IgM syndrome. It helps assess B-cell subset distribution and reconstitution after hematopoietic cell or bone marrow transplant or after recovery following B-cell-depleting immunotherapy.
Special Instructions
This test should be ordered only when percentages of reportable B-cell subsets are needed. If both percentages and absolute counts are required, order a different test: IABCS / B-Cell Phenotyping Profile.
Limitations
This test is not indicated for evaluating lymphoproliferative disorders such as leukemia, lymphoma, or multiple myeloma. It should not be used for monitoring B-cell counts in patients undergoing B-cell-depleting therapies; use CD20B for that purpose.
