13q14.3 Deletion
Use
FISH test on hematologic specimens for the detection of 13q deletion and homozygous deletion commonly observed in myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms. This test aids in the diagnosis and management of these neoplastic disorders by identifying genetic abnormalities that are relevant in these conditions.
Special Instructions
All attempts will be made to process and report samples received > 72 hours post-collection. Bone marrow is the sample of choice in most heme malignancies.
Limitations
Stated turn-around-times (TATs) are for clinical use only and subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements. Specimen rejection criteria include clotted specimen, exposure to extreme temperature, toxic anticoagulants, and insufficient number of cells.
