BCR/ABL1 qRT PCR, minor
Use
This test uses quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) for the detection of the minor BCR::ABL fusion gene transcript p190 (e1a2) in patients with Philadelphia chromosome (t(9;22)(q34;q11.2)) positive leukemia, commonly associated with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). It aids in monitoring disease progression and response to treatment.
Special Instructions
Frozen blood samples are NOT accepted. Notify MPLN if shipment is to arrive after 1 p.m. Friday or Saturday.
Limitations
Specimen stability requires receipt by MPLN within 48 hours of collection. Incorrect specimen handling, such as clotted samples, incorrect anticoagulants, or storage outside recommended temperatures, can lead to specimen rejection. Isolated RNA of suboptimal quantity and/or quality may affect test results.
