BER-EP4, technical only
Use
Ep-Cam Ber-EP4 cell adhesion molecule detects cell membrane glycoproteins expressed on healthy epithelia and in various carcinomas. This test is intended for technical use only, specifically for identifying cell adhesion molecules through immunohistochemistry. It does not include pathologist interpretation, which should be considered when assessing the results.
Special Instructions
This test includes only the technical component and does not encompass pathologist reading. Ensure use of positively charged glass slides for unstained slides to prevent background staining and tissue loss. Fresh tissues should be fixed appropriately before testing, preferably within specified time frames.
Limitations
The test is limited to detecting the presence of Ep-Cam Ber-EP4 cell adhesion molecules via immunohistochemistry. It does not provide any insight into molecular changes, genetic mutations, or other cellular features beyond cell surface glycoprotein presence. Additionally, incorrect fixation or inadequate preparation of the specimen may impact test results.
