Bladder Cancer Panel +3,+7,+17,9p21-
Use
FISH panel test on urine specimens for the detection and monitoring of patients suspected of having bladder cancer. Includes probes to detect gains of chromosomes 3, 7, and 17, and loss of the p-arm of chromosome 9. The FDA-approved Vysis Urovysion Bladder Cancer assay can be performed upon request.
Special Instructions
Specimen should be voided urine mixed with preservative at a 2:1 ratio of urine to preservative (PreservCyt® or Carbowax® solutions) for a total volume > 50 mL. Shipping should be done refrigerated with precautions against extreme temperatures.
Limitations
Samples exposed to extreme temperature, incorrect preservative, insufficient volume or number of cells, or non-urine specimens including bladder or renal pelvic washings will be rejected. Specimen transport must not exceed 48 hours.

Collection Instructions
