BRAF V600E
Use
BRAF V600E is a protein marker targeting a mutation in the BRAF gene, substituting valine with glutamic acid at position 600. This mutation activates the MAPK signaling pathway and promotes tumorigenesis. It is frequently used as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for cancers such as melanoma, colorectal cancer, Hairy cell leukemia, and thyroid cancer.
Special Instructions
Fresh tissues can be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for long-term storage if needed. Samples must be tested within 3 months after placing in ethanol. Unstained slides require positively charged glass slides to avoid background staining and tissue loss.
Limitations
Specimens must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) or B plus. All other fixatives will be rejected. Slides should not be baked to prevent background staining.
