Use
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is an epithelial marker used to assist in the distinction between adenocarcinoma and mesotheliomas. CEA is also useful for identifying the origin of various metastatic adenocarcinomas when used in a panel of antibodies. Technical component only. Pathologist read not included.
Special Instructions
Specimens may be transferred to 70% alcohol for transportation purposes after fixation in 10% NBF or B plus.
Limitations
Technical component only. Pathologist read not included. Specimens must be fixed in 10% NBF or B plus. All other fixatives will be rejected.

Collection Instructions
Fixative should be at a 20:1 fixative to tissue ratio, 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) for 6-72 hours (48-72 hours PREFERRED).
Causes for Rejection
All other fixatives will be rejected.
