CD19
Use
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on the surface of B lymphocytes and follicular dendritic cells. It's a critical regulator in B-cell development, activation, and differentiation, expressed from the earliest recognizable B-cell lineage stage throughout development, and then lost upon plasma cell maturation.
Special Instructions
Fresh Tissues: Specimens may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer-term storage if needed. Samples must be tested within 3 months after placing in ethanol. Unstained slides: Positively charged glass slides required to prevent background staining and tissue loss. Slides should be left unbaked.
Limitations
The clinical interpretation of CD19 depends on the care taken during pre-analytical processes such as proper fixation and slide preparation. Improper storage can lead to inaccurate results due to loss of antigenicity.
