CD61
Use
CD61 is an adhesion receptor found on megakaryocytes, platelets, monocytes, among others, playing a role in platelet aggregation. It acts as a receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin, and other factors. Low to no expression of CD61 antigen is reported in individuals with Glanzmann's thrombasthenia, and expression is usually seen in most megakaryocytic leukemia cases.
Special Instructions
Fresh tissues may be collected and fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours before transferring to 70% ethanol for long-term storage at 2-8°C. Positively charged glass slides are required to prevent background staining and tissue loss. Slides should remain unbaked.
Limitations
Specimens fixed in any fixative other than 10% NBF or B plus will be rejected. Turnaround times are subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements and will be specified in the biopharma study contract.
