CD7, technical only
Use
CD7 antigen is found on the surface of mature T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells. This marker is useful as part of an antibody panel designed to classify tumors of T-cell origin such as T-ALL, anaplastic large cell lymphomas, angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, T/NK cell lymphomas, lymphoblastic lymphomas, and thymoma. Technical component only. Pathologist read not included.
Special Instructions
Fresh Tissues: Specimens may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer term storage if needed. Samples must be tested 3 months after placing in ethanol. Unstained slides: Positively charged glass slides required to prevent background staining and prevent tissue loss. Slides should be left unbaked.
Limitations
This test does not include a pathologist's read. It is the technical component only, and as such does not provide interpretive results. Results should be correlated with additional clinical data and the pathologist's analysis for complete diagnostic information. The stability of fresh tissues is limited to 72 hours when not transferred to ethanol for longer storage.
