CD79a, technical only
Use
CD79a is a pan B-cell marker that first appears during the pre-B-cell stage, early in maturation, and persists until the plasma cell stage where it's found intracellularly. It is useful as a marker in antibody panels to differentiate classic Hodgkin lymphoma from nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma and aggressive B-cell lymphomas that may show Hodgkin-like features.
Special Instructions
Technical component only. Pathologist read not included. Fresh tissues should be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer storage. Unstained slides should be positively charged to prevent background staining and tissue loss.
Limitations
The test does not include a pathologist interpretation and is limited to the technical component only. Stated turn-around-times are for clinical use only and subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements.
