CD8, technical only
Use
CD8 is found on a subset of T-cells deemed normal cytotoxic/suppressor cells, which make up approximately 20-35% of non-diseased human peripheral blood lymphocytes. CD8 is also reported to be present on a subset of natural killer (NK) cells. This test is for technical component only and does not include a pathologist read.
Special Instructions
Fresh Tissues may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours at collection sites and then transferred to 70% ethanol for longer-term storage if needed. Samples must be tested within 3 months after storage in ethanol. Unstained slides must be positively charged to prevent background staining and tissue loss, and should be left unbaked. Technical component only, no pathologist read included.
Limitations
This test only provides the technical component, thus interpretations must be performed separately. Specimens must be fixed in 10% NBF or B plus, and all other fixatives will be rejected. Stated turn-around-times are subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements and do not include pathologist review.
