CD99
Use
CD99 is implicated in cellular processes such as homotypic aggregation of T-cells and apoptosis of thymocytes. It is expressed on most human tissues and hematopoietic cell types, aiding in diagnosing tumors like Ewings sarcoma and T-cell lymphoma.
Special Instructions
Ensure specimens are well-fixed using 10% neutral buffered formalin. Positively charged glass slides are required to prevent background staining.
Limitations
Only specimens fixed in 10% NBF or B plus are acceptable. Other fixatives will lead to rejection. Slides must remain unbaked and require proper fixation duration for accurate results.
