Factor X111a
Use
Factor XIIIa is a blood proenzyme expressed in platelets, cells of monocyte/macrophage myeloid lineage, and fibroblast-like mesenchymal and histiocytic cells. The Factor XIIIa antibody is useful in identifying fibrohistiocytic proliferations and dermal dendrocytes, primarily surrounding microvasculature in the adventitial dermis near the dermoepidermal junction and near skin appendages.
Special Instructions
Specimens must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) or B plus. Fresh specimens can be transferred to 70% ethanol after formalin fixation for longer-term storage. Unstained slides require positively charged glass slides to prevent background staining and tissue loss.
Limitations
Stated turnaround times are for clinical use only and may vary based on biopharma protocol requirements. The testing must be performed within three months of placing samples in ethanol.
