Factor X111a, technical only
Use
Factor XIIIa is a blood proenzyme expressed in platelets and cells of monocyte/macrophage myeloid lineage, as well as in fibroblast-like mesenchymal and histiocytic cells. It is useful in identifying fibrohistiocytic proliferations and dermal dendrocytes, especially near microvasculature in the adventitial dermis near the dermoepidermal junction and near skin appendages.
Special Instructions
Technical component only, pathologist read not included. Fresh tissues need formalin fixation at a 20:1 fixative to tissue ratio, 10% neutral buffered formalin for 6-72 hours (48-72 hours preferred). Positive charged glass slides are required to prevent background staining and tissue loss.
Limitations
Stated turn-around-times are for clinical use only and subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements.
