Fascin
Use
Fascin is an actin-binding protein that plays a key role in cell migration, invasion, and the formation of actin filaments in epithelial cells. In pathology, fascin is used to distinguish metastatic tumors from benign lesions, as it is frequently overexpressed in tumors such as breast, ovarian, and colorectal cancers.
Special Instructions
Fresh Tissues may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer-term storage if needed. Unstained slides require positively charged glass slides to prevent background staining and tissue loss. Slides should be left unbaked.
Limitations
Specimens must be tested within 3 months after placing in ethanol. All other fixatives besides 10% NBF will be rejected.
