HMB45 Red, technical only
Use
The human melanoma black (HMB) antibody reacts with neuraminidase-sensitive oligosaccharide side chains of glycoconjugates present in immature melanosomes, cutaneous melanocytes, prenatal/infantile retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), and melanoma cells. Studies support the routine use of HMB45 as a sensitive and specific melanocytic marker.

Limitations
The test does not include a pathologist interpretation; it is the technical component only. Only specimens using 10% NBF or B plus for fixation are accepted to ensure accurate results.
