Myoglobin, technical only
Use
Oxygen binding protein myoglobin shows positive staining in striated muscle (cardiac, skeletal), rhabdomyosarcoma, and other tumors with skeletal muscle differentiation. Technical component only. Pathologist read not included.
Special Instructions
Fresh Tissues may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer term storage if needed. Samples must be tested 3 months after placing in ethanol. Unstained slides require positively charged glass slides to prevent background staining and prevent tissue loss, and should be left unbaked.
Limitations
Stated turn-around-times (TATs) are for clinical use only and subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements. The test is limited to technical components only, excluding a pathologist read.
