In pathology, p63 is widely used to identify squamous cell carcinoma and other epithelial tumors. p63 helps distinguish between squamous cell carcinomas and other malignancies, such as adenocarcinomas, and is particularly valuable in diagnosing and assessing tumors of the skin, breast, and head and neck.
