Pan-TRK, technical only
Use
Pan-TRK detection of the C-terminal region of the tropomyosin receptor kinase (TRK) proteins A, B, and C via immunohistochemistry. This test includes only the technical component, meaning that it does not include a pathologist's interpretation. It is used for the detection of TRK proteins, which are involved in the development of various cancers due to gene fusions.
Special Instructions
Stated turn-around-times (TATs) are for clinical use only and subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements. Final TATs will be specified in the biopharma study contract. Fresh tissues may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer-term storage if needed. Unstained slides must use positively charged glass slides to prevent background staining and tissue loss.
Limitations
This test does not include a pathologist's interpretation, and the results are only technically provided without clinical correlation. Specimens must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) or B plus. Other fixatives will be rejected. Turnaround times are subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements.

Collection Instructions
Fixative should be at a 20:1 fixative to tissue ratio, 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) for 6-72 hours, with 48-72 hours preferred. Specimens may be transferred to 70% alcohol for transportation purposes after fixation.
Storage Instructions
Store specimens at 15°C to 25°C. If transferred to ethanol, store at 2-8°C for long-term.
Causes for Rejection
All other fixatives will be rejected.
