PAX-5
Use
PAX-5 is a B-cell specific nuclear transcription factor that is expressed in pre-B, pro-B, and mature B-cell stages. Detection of PAX-5 is recommended as part of an antibody panel for the identification of B-cell malignancies.
Special Instructions
Fresh tissues: Specimens may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer term storage if needed. Samples must be tested within 3 months after placing in ethanol.
Limitations
Specimens must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) or B plus. All other fixatives will be rejected. Unstained slides must be on positively charged glass slides to prevent background staining and prevent tissue loss.

Collection Instructions
Fixative should be at a 20:1 fixative to tissue ratio, 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) for 6-72 hours (48-72 hours PREFERRED).
Storage Instructions
Store at 15°C to 25°C.
Causes for Rejection
Specimens fixed in other than 10% NBF will be rejected.
