AAT
Also known as: alpha-1-antitrypsin
Use
Alpha‑1‑Antitrypsin (AAT) immunohistochemistry (IHC) is used in evaluating inherited AAT deficiency and distinguishing benign versus malignant hepatic tumors and yolk sac carcinoma. Its sensitivity and specificity render it valuable for screening patients with cryptogenic cirrhosis or unexplained portal fibrosis in liver disease.
