Use
Detection of small groups of metastatic carcinoma cells (micrometastases) in sentinel lymph nodes via immunohistochemistry serves as an important prognostic indicator, as it may represent the earliest evidence of cancer spread that is not easily identifiable by routine histologic H&E evaluation.
Special Instructions
Tissue block identifiers must be clearly written and match exactly the specimen ID and labeling on the requisition. Use a cold pack for transport, ensuring it does not directly contact the specimen. For New York State clients, provide the date and time of specimen collection.
