This assay detects structural rearrangements—specifically inversion of chromosome 16 [inv(16)] and translocation t(16;16)—in the CBFB gene, which are associated with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), including the M4E variant (acute myelomonocytic leukemia / AML‑M4E), aiding diagnosis and classification.
Special Instructions
Level of Service options include Global and Tech Only. Note for New York State clients: specimens should include date and time of collection. Avoid including biopsy needles, blades, or other foreign objects in transport tubes. Storage and transport: use a cold pack not in direct contact with the specimen.
