CD30 Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Use
CD30 is a lymphocyte activation antigen expressed in activated B‑, T‑ and NK‑cells. Positive staining is observed in infectious mononucleosis, lymphocytes infected with HIV, HTLV‑1, EBV, HHV8 or hepatitis B, as well as in Reed‑Sternberg cells, anaplastic large cell lymphomas (approximately 90%), lymphomatoid papulosis, peripheral T‑cell lymphomas, and embryonal cell tumors.
Special Instructions
Level of Service: Tech Only. Please provide an H&E‑stained slide (required) plus two to three positively charged unstained slides (4–5 microns) or an FFPE tissue block. Block and slide identifiers must match specimen ID on requisition. For New York State clients, please include date and time of collection. Transport specimens with a cold pack not in direct contact with specimen.
