CK17
Also known as: Cytokeratin 17
Use
Cytokeratin 17 (CK17) is an effective marker to distinguish myoepithelial cells from luminal epithelium of various glands (e.g., mammary, sweat, salivary, bronchial, tracheal, laryngeal, esophageal) and to differentiate benign from malignant forms of tumors. Predominant expression of CK17 characterizes basal cell carcinomas and it is frequently positive in carcinomas of pancreatic or biliary origin.
