DDIT3 (CHOP)(12q13)
Use
The test is used for detecting rearrangements involving the DDIT3 gene, particularly in cases suspected to be Myxoid-round cell liposarcoma (M/RCLS). It is based on the Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) methodology, which helps identify structural genetic alterations.
Special Instructions
Ensure that the paraffin block is sent with the specimen, and that the H&E slide is circled for tech-only processing. Use a cold pack during transportation, ensuring it does not contact the specimen directly.
Limitations
The test is specifically designed to detect structural rearrangements in the DDIT3 gene. It may not identify other types of mutations or genetic anomalies that are not detectable via the FISH technique. Accurate results depend on proper specimen handling and processing.
