Elastic Stain
Use
The Elastic Stain is a special histopathology stain (immunohistochemistry) used to visualize elastic fibers in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples. It aids in the evaluation of pathological features in a wide range of tissue types by enhancing the detection of elastic fibers that may be diagnostically relevant.
Special Instructions
Preferred specimen is a formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block or, alternatively, one unbaked, unstained H&E slide (required) plus two to three positively charged unstained slides (cut at 4β5 microns). Identifier labeling must match requisition. For New York State clients, include collection date and time. Transport specimens using cold packs not in direct contact with slides or blocks.
