Use
This specimen hold option is useful for reserving specimens for molecular testing at a future date. DNA, RNA, or TNA will be isolated and frozen for future analysis, which may include tests for various mutations and gene rearrangements associated with hematologic disorders. It is particularly beneficial when the specific tests to be ordered are known in advance, providing flexibility and timely access to appropriate molecular diagnostics.
Special Instructions
Charges are waived when testing is ordered on held specimens; otherwise, a fee will be billed to the client. It is advised to note potential tests when ordering this service. Limitations
This service does not include analysis until specific tests are ordered. It relies on the stability of the initial specimen for subsequent testing. Extracted nucleic acids are held for 28 days, and failure to order testing within this timeframe may result in additional charges. Analytical performance is contingent on the downstream tests selected.
