FLi‑1
Use
FLI‑1 (Friend leukemia integration 1) is a nuclear transcription factor and has been reported as the first nuclear marker of endothelial differentiation. It labels hemangiomas, angiosarcomas, Kaposi’s sarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma, and is also expressed in normal endothelial cells, megakaryocytes, and normal breast epithelium. This immunohistochemical marker assists in the identification and differential diagnosis of vascular and round cell neoplasms in a technical immunostaining context.
Special Instructions
Test is technical component only (“Tech Only”). The preferred specimen is a formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded (FFPE) tissue block; alternatively, one unbaked, unstained H&E slide (required) plus two to three positively charged unstained slides (cut at 4‑5 microns) may be submitted. Block and slide identifiers must match the requisition. During transport, use a cold pack not in direct contact with the specimen. New York State (NYS) clients must provide date and time of collection.
