Glycophorin A
Use
Glycophorin A (sialoglycoprotein alpha) is a transmembrane protein on the outer surface of human erythrocytes; this monoclonal antibody reacts with an epitope on the extracellular domain and does not cross-react with glycophorin D. It is present throughout erythroid differentiation, from normoblast to mature erythrocyte, and is also found in blast cells of erythroleukemia. Acute lymphoblastic and myeloblastic leukemia cases are not reactive, highlighting its utility in distinguishing erythroid lineage.
