MDM2 FISH
Use
The MDM2 FISH test is utilized to detect amplifications in the MDM2 gene, specifically located at the 12q15 region. This amplification is relevant in the diagnosis of liposarcoma, a malignant tumor originating from fat tissue.
Special Instructions
For tech-only service, a circled H&E slide is required. Use a cold pack for transport, ensuring it doesn't contact the specimen directly.
Limitations
This test is limited to detecting the amplification of the MDM2 gene through FISH methodology. It does not provide information regarding other genetic alterations or mutations that may be present in the sample.
