Use
Monoclonal antibody MOC31 recognizes a membrane glycoprotein of approximately 40 kDa present on epithelial cells but not on mesothelial cells. It reacts with most adenocarcinomas of various origins, typically showing strong staining, while only rare mesotheliomas exhibit focal or weak staining. Additionally, MOC31 does not label liver tissue or hepatocellular carcinoma, making it useful in the differential diagnosis of liver metastases versus hepatocellular carcinoma.

Collection Instructions
A formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded (FFPE) tissue block is preferred specimen type or one unbaked, unstained slide for H&E staining (required) and two to three positively charged unstained slides (all cut at 4‑5 microns) for each test/antibody ordered. Block and slide identifiers should be clearly written and match exactly with the specimen ID and specimen labeling as noted on the requisition.
Storage Instructions
